''I was able to find joy in creating art. In the midst of everything, I created my own definition of beauty. Creating art was my sanctuary.''
Suzanne Farman was born and raised in Iraq but moved to Canada in 2005 to begin a new life. She received her bachelors degree in civil engineering in 2012 and decided to re enter the art scene after settling down in her personal and professional life. She attended the Alberta College of Art and Design and took drawing and painting courses. Since then she has been painting every evening, exploring new techniques and experimenting with new media.
The paintings Suzanne creates use acrylic paint, gesso, molding paste, crackling paste and marble dust. Her artwork has a 3 dimensional effect through the use of texture. The inspiration for Suzanne pieces stems from the infinitely exquisite shapes, colours and events of nature.
Each one of her paintings conveys a message of gratitude, hope, beauty and perseverance. Suzanne believes that beauty is everywhere and it is up to us to find it in the humblest things ''beauty is the illumination of our perception of the world. Dreams come true through belief and perseverance and i hope you find both inspiration and elegance in my work.''
